Milford Women's Expo - Diva Day 2008 - 'Women Are Like Butterflies"

Diva Day 2008 is over and once again, despite the rain, it was a smashing success!

Once again Carole's Cake Creations had a busy table with cake samples and a contest for a gift certificate; the table never had a slow moment.

After the excellent feedback from last year's Expo, Carole brought back 2 events - "Cake Off 2008", which pitted 2 excellent French Vanilla recipes against one another, and the "Victorian Charm Pull" where the winner took home both her charm and butterfly pendant.  Read on to hear more about the exciting events.

Cake Off

Last year, Carole held the inaugural "Cake Off" to give visiting Divas a good reason to sample her awesome cakes.  By tasting a sample of 2 different recipes everyone who came to Diva Day got a chance to decide what new flavor Carole would add to her Cake Menu.  Since it was so successful, Carole decided to run the event again - 'Cake Off 2008'.  This year's tasting was to determine which French Vanilla recipe was good enough to join the team.  This year's competition was a lot closer - only 9 votes separated the 2 recipes and a lot of comments said that they were nearly equal.  In the final tally Recipe B took the prize and has been added to the Cake Menu (see the results graph below).

                     - and the ever popular "Yummy!"

Victorian Charm Pull

Carole also hosted one of Diva Day's premier events - the Victorian Charm Pull.  Twelve lucky Divas, whose names were picked, got a chance to pull a ribbon attached to a sterling silver charm embedded in the Diva Day cake.  Each contestant got to keep their charm and the one with the butterfly charm also won a Sterling Silver Butterfly Pendant with Austrian Crystals.  Congratulations to everyone who got the chance to participate.

After the ribbons were all pulled, Carole cut and served the Diva Day 2008 cake, a treat for all who attended.
